Under the glaze, the cup has two blue lines painted at the base and the inside rim is defined by two such rings. Outlines and elements of the design were painted in a fine black line, after which strong blue, yellow, and red dots completed it. The exterior is divided into ten vertical white panels which appear to float on a blue ground. Within the panels are two alternating designs in black, yellow and red: a vertical flowering branch, and a set of four small plant forms, vertically arranged and alternating in direction.
