DescriptionA medium-sized Iznik plate with footring. Its exterior is undecorated, while the interior has underglaze decoration in black, blue, turquoise and raised red. The flat rim is painted with thick and thin black strokes in a loose but fluid “wave and rock” design, with hasty blue inclusions. The curved center is filled with an swirling interlace of Rumi “leaves” on a turquoise ground, with accents in red and blue
