The text is a prayer-book for the members of the Rosenkranzbruderschaft, founded 1474 at Cologne. The woodcuts in this publication have been attributed to Dürer, Baldung, von Kulmbach, Schaüfelein, and Traut. Recent scholarship does not accept any blocks for Dürer (cf. Panofsky 452, 453). Dodgson (I, 510) does not accept Traut attributions. (MFA has another copy [BR1206; incomplete] of books 6-11, with woodcuts hand-colored.)
