Painted in grisaille and ochre with an allegorical scene of the ages of man, or steps of life (Lebenstreppe or Lebensalter) combined with a scene of divine judgement in the border. At the top a seated figure (Christ?) in judgement is seated among clouds, flanked by cherubs with demons to his left and angels to his right. In the center, nine figures ascend from childhood on the left and descend to old age half into a coffin at the right, on steps above animals in rectangular panels. At the bottom center is the mouth of Hell with Time destroying Beauty and other similar scenes.
