Don Quixote is riding his horse Rocinante along the outer wall of an inn. He holds a lance in his right hand. His left hand is raised toward the wall of the inn, in a gesturing position. In the air, over the wall Sancho can be seen.
A wooden sign hangs on the left wall of the inn.
A large rock is at the base of each corner of the inn.
