DescriptionDress in two parts, of printed pongee, narrow vertical stripes alternately tan and ivory, with minute rose sepentines and small buds printed in orange, red and green; (a) bodice with high standing collar, hooked down center front with loosely pleated front panel hooked to side of bodice closing, long sleeves with considerable fullness at shoulder, bodice boned and tightly fitted at waist, (b) skirt in two layers, underskirt of tan cotton with deep flounce of printed silk pleated around bottom, over-skirt with fullness pleated deeply in back, slight drapery over hips, shallow pleats in center front; printed label on inner belt: ? C. Cadwell... Baltimore, Md. Said to have been worn by Helen Dove, daughter of John Dove of Andover, Massachusetts.
