Dressing table of walnut with mahogany banding, cabriole legs with shaped skirting and wooden drops; brasses not original, top replaced.


Two paper labels inscribed in ink: "Property of / Miss Mary / Crowninshield."
Chalk inscription on left side of bottom right drawer of various numbers.
On side of PR drawer, " [?] shield / Charlestown"


Early history unknown; paper labels indicate it was owned later by Mary R. Crowninshield; presumably acquired by Miss Elizabeth H. Clark, who gave it in memory of Mary R. Crowninshield (Accession Date June 4, 1925). February 26, 2015, deaccessioned by the MFA for sale through Northeast Auctions, Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
