Earrings, flares, plugs, studs

Gold and enamel ear stud. Raised Hathor head in center surrounded by inlay. Granulated single band around the edge. Small gold wire loop soldered to bottom of stud.


From Meroe: tomb W 179, in a bronze box. 1922: Excavated by the Harvard University-Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
