A clear glass plaque decorated on the back with a half-length saint in gold. He holds a book in his left hand and his head, with short hair and beard, is turned to the left. Above and below are stylized gold palmettes and twisted bands forming arcs that join the rectangular frame to enclose the Apostle. Dark-brown paint has been placed over the gold of the figure to color the modeling lines. Blue and red paint are used for the background.
