Heavy white cotton; across one end is a broad band with a conventional design embroidered with red, orange, green, and black silk; above and below this are narrower bands of embroidery running parallel with it, and above the upper band are three groups of borders running at right angles to the main one, and separated by two conventional plants. The sides are overcast and knotted with silk. Across the bottom is fastened a heavy fringe of cotton, silk and wool, which may possibly have been added at a later date. These pieces are worn as decoration on the tops of the sleeves of the women’s coats, not as flaps on their pockets as the donor thought.
