Circular medal of Eugène Defacqz (1797-1871), grandmaster of Belgian Freemasonary, probably commemorating his installation as grandmaster.

Obverse: Profile bust of Eugène Defacqz looking to proper right; inscribed at edge “EUGÈNE DEFACQZ GR[triangle of three dots] MAIT.DE L’ORDRE MAÇ[traingle of three dots]/EN BELGIQUE” and under bust “HART F”.

Reverse: Spoils surround sword laying ontop of a monument with a star, inscribed with “C”, above; inscribed at edge “[rosette] ÉLU A L’UNANIMITÉ II J[triangle of three dots] 5 M[triangle of three dots] INSTALLÉ 8 J[triangle of three dots] 6 M[triangle of three dots] 5842.”.

Inscription
