Description(Basel: Heinrich Petri, 1544) Folio; 87 leaves; 19th-century half parchment, marbled paper boards, gilt-tooled red morocco spine label; dark tan cloth box. BOUND with Dürer, Underweysung der Messung (KBR216.1).

Illustrations of sundials; figurative initials. Second edition of German translation of Munster's Horologiographia of 1533; the first was 1537. Four illustrations given to Hans Holbein the Younger (see Hollstein); these illustrations were first used in his Compositio horologiorum (Basel: 1531). A folding plate of a large sun-dial is described as "missing from most editions."
