DescriptionEmpire fan. Printed and hand-painted paper leaf. Zephyrus, Cupid and Psyche center, two pairs of geese(marriage symbols) to sides, decorative border across top, appliquéd brass sequin details(mostly missing). Dark polished wood sticks, ivory thumbpieces. (Legend that first fan was wing torn by Cupid from Zephyrus to fan sleeping Psyche).
