DescriptionDouble skin leaf painted in gouache and touches of India ink. Obverse: St. Peter's Basilica with forecourt, Bernini colonnades and Vatican, gilt on pink decorative borders. Reverse: Hadrian's Tomb (Tower of St. Angelo), gilt decorative borders and narrow gilt binding at top. Red lacquered wood sticks with gilt chinoiserie motifs, bone thumbpieces, mother-of-pearl buttons on rivet.
