DescriptionHollow pottery statuette made of coarse, straw-tempered Nile silt clay. It depicts a woman holding her hands to her head in a traditional position of mourning. It was originally covered with a white wash, and there are traces of red pigment. The arms, breasts and facial features were modeled by hand and applied. The surface and facial details are worn.
