ProvenanceFrom Gammai, Nubia (Sudan), Mound E, found in bronze box, object #R44. 1915-6: excavated by Oric Bates & Dows Dunham for the Harvard Peabody Museum; 1916: assigned to Oric Bates in the division of finds with the Sudanese government; Sept. 4, 1924: lent to the MFA by Mrs. Oric Bates; March 12, 1942: given to the MFA by Mrs. Oric Bates.
