DescriptionPlain oblong case on four scroll feet, with shaped escutcheon plate and scroll handle, the base plate engraved, in the nineteenth century, with the initial L and earl's coronet.
ProvenanceMade for Thomas, 5th Lord King and Baron of Ockham (1712-79); after his death, by descent within family until to Earl and Countess of Lovelace; June 8, 1995, sold by the Earl and Countess of Lovelace at Sotheby's, London, lot 111, where most probably bought by Alan and Simone Hartman, New York, NY; 2001, gift of Alan and Simone Hartman.
