DescriptionThe ground is of white satin. The design is a development of that of the Italian 15th century velvets in which large leaf-like forms are detailed with conventional, symmetrical bunches of flowers. In this piece the leaf-like forms are separated by a frame-work of conventional flowers and leaves. The design is woven with white, green, yellow, light brown, pink and blue silk. Made up of many fragments.
