DescriptionWarp of natural-colored linen. Design: tapestry band of pink, yellow, blue-green and dark brown silk and natural-colored linen; woven with long slits. Two connected ovals (.5 high), one contains yellow birds on a dark brown ground and the other an animal woven with natural-colored linen on a pink ground. Between the two ovals are smaller oval-shaped motifs with dark brown scrolls on yellow or blue-green ground. Above and below are lines of cream Kufic inscriptions (.03 high) (lower line woven backwards). Shafts of tall letters divide the border into compartments, each containing a yellow medallion on dark brown or pink ground. Inscription: undeciphered. Part of 31.127.
