DescriptionThe head of Dionysus; hair knotted at back and bound with a fillet; lid stiff and partly open; at either side of head a loop and remains of a bail. Badly encrusted.
ProvenanceSaid to be from Abydos. 1903: purchased for the MFA in Qena, Egypt from Ghirgas by Albert M. Lythgoe as part of a group (03.1654-03.1656) for £3. (Accession date: January 1, 1903)
