DescriptionThe warp is of deep violet wool; woven into a piece of brownish violet cloth is a border with a yellowish white ground, and with a disconnected design of fish, birds, men and plants in red. Most of the motifs represent the Nilotic flora and fauna. Similar in design and coloring to 09.118 and possibly from the same garment. Probaby a sleeve band (?). The design shows Byzantine influence.
