DescriptionThe stone is fine-grained and wavy-lined. It is coarse grained at the base and the top. The base is flat. Part of a handle remains on one shoulder. It is broken and mended. Half of the jar is missing.
ProvenanceFrom Egypt, Menkaura (Menkaura) Valley Temple, Giza. 1911: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
