DescriptionThis fragmentary ring was recovered from an undecorated, rectangular burial chamber with few artifacts. Dating is uncertain. Part of the shank is missing and the intaglio on the bezel is illegible.
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, tomb 17 (private). 1916: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
