Gift cover (fukusa) with design of rooster on a drum (kanko-dori) and hanging curtains (kichô) in blue, purple, green, orange, brown, yellow, and white silk embroidery and gold metallic thread couching on a blue twill-weave silk ground woven with floral pattern; reddish-orange silk crepe (chirimen) backing.

“The Drum with Fowls” motif is associated with a Chinese proverb indicating that “all is well.” This imagery is appropriate for a New Year’s gift or various Shinto ceremonies celebrating milestones in one’s life.
