Circular medal of Giovanna Albizzi Tornabuoni, wife of Lorenzo (died 1488).

Obverse: Bust of Giovanna looking to proper left, wearing necklace and having hair stylied; inscribed at edge “[VX]OR·LAVRENTII·DETORNABONIS·IOANNA·ALBIZA·”.

Reverse: Venus at center as Spartan huntress, wearing a winged hat and boots; holding a bow in her left hand and an arrow in her right; inscribed at edge “·VIRGINIS·OS·HABITVM·QVE·GERENSE VIRGINIS·ARMA A·”.


Obverse: Inscribed at edge "[VX]OR·LAVRENTII·DETORNABONIS·IOANNA·ALBIZA·" ["The wife of Lorenzo Tornbuoni, Giovanna Albizzi"].

Reverse: Inscribed at edge "·VIRGINIS·OS·HABITVM·QVE·GERENSE VIRGINIS·ARMA A·" ["with a maiden's face and mein, and a maiden's weapons"].
