DescriptionThis jar, fashioned of a red clay fabric, has a globular body with rounded base, short neck, and a straight rim. The exterior retains traces of a burnished/polished red slip. The rim is chipped. The jar was once in many fragments but has been mended.
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan) el-Kurru, pyramid 3 (tomb of Queen Naparaye). 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
