DescriptionGlobular ovoid jar with round base: missing neck and rim but body complete. The jar was thrown on the wheel. After the vessel was thrown, the exterior of the bottom half of the jar was scraped and cut into the desired shape, hand finished, and covered in a red slip.
ProvenanceFrom Giza, Menkaura Valley Temple. Excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
