The Ancient World



The facing head has the large, heavy ring cast separately in the mouth and hung through two very large holes. There are two smaller holes below the nose. Details of the eyes and fur are incised. Badly cracked and somewhat encrusted over a green patina; iron pins or nails remain at left and right. Dark green patina, with reddish spots and traces of rust from the iron.
