From palmette and volute bases two kouroi kneel back to back so that their headdresses join. Their hands are at their sides, palms out along their bodies. Details of the body and volute bases are incised. The faces were worn in antiquity. Dark green “Dodona” patina.
By 1961: with Dr. Hugo Weissmann, 96 Charles Street, Boston, Mass. (said to come from Florina in Macedonia); May 10, 1961: purchased by MFA from Dr. Hugo Weissmann for $ 800-.
