A nude youth grasps the tails of two lions, at either side of his head. He has four long braids falling in groups of two on his shoulders and chest. Both feet are missing, as are the paws of one of the lions. Dark, olive green patina with slight areas of corrosion in light green.
About 1881: found near Sparta about 1881 according to a letter from W. J. Stillman (dated January 15, 1886): purchased by W. J. Stillman in Athens in the winter of 1881-1882; by 1885: gift to MFA by contribution through C. E. Norton, December 31, 1885
