DescriptionRectangular hanging. Top and center; red velvet ground in the shape of a tau cross having a repeating simple stylized symmetrical floral spray in gold-shot cotton appliqué, with metallic yarn edging, glued and couched in place. Side panels: repeating large curling acanthus-like leaves with lace-pattern details and small blossoms in red silk and tan linen matelassé. Metallic yarn fringe across bottom edge and in a horizontal line near the top. Very badly worn in many areas.
