DescriptionCircular medal of Jan III Sobieski (1629-1696), king of Poland, commemorating his victory over the Turks at Vienna (1683).
Obverse: Profile bust of Jan III looking to proper right, wearing a laureate wreath; inscribed at edge JAN III SOBIESKI KROL POLSKI OBRONCA CHRZESCIANSTWA 1683 *" and under bust "F. WOJTICH KRAKOW".
Reverse: Heraldic device at center; inscribed at edge "PAMIATKA OBCMODU OSWOBODZENIA WIEDNIA 12CO WRZESNIA 1883 *".
