DescriptionTsuji banzuke for the kabuki dance drama "Iso chidori Naruto no adauchi" that was performed at the Ichimura Theater (Edo) from the 17th day of the 9th lunar month of Tenpô 11 (1840). A second title panel (left-side) advertises the Jôruri act "Yoshinoyama yuki no furugoto" and lists the names of the Tokiwazu-style chanters. This musical piece formed part of the theatrical program. Published by Fukuchi Mohei and Yamamoto Jûgorô.

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
