DescriptionTsuji banzuke for the headlining kabuki drama "Sekai mo awase chôchô komon" and the Tomimoto-style Jôruri piece titled "Midarezaki kakine no unohana". These were staged at the Ichimura Theater (Edo) from the 18th day of the 4th lunar month of Ansei 6 (1859). The day's program also included: the drama "Yoroigusa katami no ebidô"; and the Jôruri act "Shujusatta chikai no kakegaku", which was performed with Tomimoto and Takemoto style musical accompaniment. The banzuke was jointly published by Fukuchi Mohei and Yamamoto Jûgorô.

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
