DescriptionTsuji banzuke for the kabuki drama "Ryô to mimasu takane no kumokiri" that was staged at the Morita Theater (Edo) from the 3rd day of the 5th lunar month of Bunkyû 1 (1861). The day's program also included two Jôruri plays titled "Mi o shiro ame yoko ni aigasa" and "Sode byôbu iro no tetsuke". The banzuke was published by Ogawa Hansuke.

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
