DescriptionBlack lacquer box (for 43. 2106a) with gold figures sitting in a lush garden on the outside. The interior is lined in blue silk satin. The inside cover shows a painted "Mandarin" style court scene with figures that have appliquéd ivory colored faces wearing purple, blue and green robes. The scene is flanked by red and pink flowers and a brown bird.
