Description(Amsterdam: Aux depens de la compagnie, 1734) Duodecimo, two vols.; [v. 1] 207 leaves, plus engraved frontispiece and 13 plates (one folding); [v. 2] 211 ll., plus 8 pls.; modern gilt-stamped blue morocco (spine faded).
Satirical commentary on and selections from De conformitate vitae beati Francisci ad vitam Domini Jesu by Bartholomeus de Pisis, which was first published in 1510. Alber first published these selections in 1542 in Wittemberg, with a preface by Luther; the French translation is given to Conrad Badius, first published in Geneva in 1560. The title and illustrations are all signed by Picart as designer, but without indication as to engraver. The engraved frontispiece/title is dated 1733, and is signed and dated by Picart in 1732.
