“Leaf Vessel” consisting of wool, flax, and lacquer. Comes inside a wooden box, and with a Urushi lacquer polish. The interior of the vessel is covered in a black lacquer which extends to the exterior of the vessel, as it creates a rim (approximately 1/4 in. wide). The bottom of the interior of the vessel is decoratively splattered with a red laquer. The exterior of the vessel is decorated with wool, leaves, and flax. The different colors of wool (pale reds, grays, and black) have been felted together into a thin layer of wool which seems to mimic marbling. Some leaf specimens and flax are integrated into the wool layer.
