Length of black plain-weave silk with design of rows of birds surrounded by flowers embroidered in purple, yellow and white silk; narrow floral borders with two narrow outer bands and a wider central band embroidered in silk with a purple, yellow and white floral motif. Probably embroidered by Chinese artists living in the port city of Surat in the state of Gujarat.
