DescriptionDouble ikat (patola) sari with a red ground and central field of repeating pattern of three white blossoms with blue stems enclosed in interlocking diamonds framed with three rows of red and white meandering floral vines on a red or blue ground; pallu has a row of red and white lotus blossoms, each within a blue oval; lengthwise borders of red with blue and white stripes handstitched to main piece.
About six inches above the pallu there is an orange running stitch attaching a field portion of the sari to the pallu area. Other areas of the borders are attached to the field in the same way.
