Miniature painting, “A maiden seated on a bank thinking of her lover;” reverse, “She is on the seashore and sees the ship go down with the lover on board.”

Navette shaped love-token ring with two painted miniatures under glass. On the surface of the bezel is an image of a woman in Neo-Classical dress standing at the shoreline. On the underside is a painting of a seated woman in Neo-Classical dress holding a love bird in her right hand, an open bird cage at her feet. She looks to her right as if waiting for someone. Blue enamel surrounding the bezel (many losses).
