Lower body wrapper (kain sarong), probably Dutch, made for the Javanese trade. Pale brown cotton printed with an overall design of flowers and leaves growing from fine undulating stems which run diagonally across the piece. Narrow borders on each side and at one end a wide border between narrower borders. The wide border has a red ground with a design of light brown and deep blue points (tumpal) enclosing fantastic buds and plants.
