DescriptionHuman effigy pendant representing a man dressed in a short jacket and trousers. His thick hair is parted on the proper left side of his head. A single ring at the back of his neck allows for suspension. Although the gift records indicate its origin in Guatemala, this type of precious metal casting is more typical of northern South America.
ProvenanceArthur W. Rondier, Consul of Venezuela (residing at the Manhattan Club, NY) by November 1884; to MFA, November 29, 1884, gift of Arthur W. Rondier.
