DescriptionAlmost certainly based on the composition of the same subject by John Martin, which was published as the frontispiece to the gift book "Forget Me Not" in 1829. Though the "Forget Me Not" was issued in London by Rudolph Ackermann, the book had wide distribution in the United States.
