DescriptionCircular medal commemorating French liberty. Probably after Augustin Dupré's 'American Liberty', 1783.

Obverse: Profile bust of a woman (Liberty) looking to proper right with long hair and a pole with a cap on it behind; inscribed above "LIBERTE FRANÇOISE", on shoulder "GALLE F", and below "L'AN I.DE LA.R.F.".

Reverse: Inscribed at center in wreath of ivy "A LA/CONVENTION/NATIONALE/PAR LES/ARTISTES REUNIS/DE YYON./---/PUR METAL/DE CLOCHE/FRAPIE EN/MDCCXCII".
