DescriptionThis medium globular jar has high shoulders, a rounded base, a striaght, thin-walled neck, and plain, unworked rim with some blackening along its edge. The vessel has been treated with a red wash/slip that has been polished. It was broken into many fragments but has been mended.
ProvenanceFrom Kerma, Cemetery N, grave 158. 1916: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
