On tomb in left in pen: Sacred to the memory/ of Nathan E Merrill / Born April 3d AD 1781./ Died July 11th AD 1785; on tomb right: Sacred to the memory of/ John Merrill. Born Nov. 15 AD 1776. / Died at Hanover Aug. 25. AD 1797./ A member of Dartmouth University.
Signed and dated 1814 on original painted glass mat.
