From a series first issued in 1854, in six sheets, under the title "Six Flowers...," and reissued in 1858 with four additional designs, under the title "Ten Flowers..." For the sheets already published, the censor's seals remain the same in the second edition; but the series title and some of the actors' faces are changed.

NOTES:
[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
