Navette-shaped mourning ring with painted miniature of a a vessel with two birds along the rim – one appears to be swimming. Vessel is decorated with small rose-cut diamonds (one section is loose). Inscribed ‘L’AMITIE’ above. On the underside there is hair and an inscribed white enamel border: JACOB.BAYLEY.OB: 19 JAN: 1782. AE: 21. Engraved decoration on bezel surround. Possible signature in lower left quadrant.
