DescriptionRectangular medal commemorating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the foundation of the Ny Carlsberg Brewery, by Carl Jacobsen (1842–1914), in Copenhagen.

Obverse: Three-quarters length figure of a woman iwth sheaves of wheat at her base, wearing a square neck bodice and a cap over her long hair while holding a flag over her left shoulder and a short broad sword, pointed down, in her right; inscribed across top, below the figure, and at lower edge.

Reverse: A woman seated on a sack at proper left, holding some wheat in her left hand and slightly raising her right toward a woman standing at proper right who holds out a two-spouted jug; signed at proper right, marked above and inscribed at lower edge.
Marks Obverse: On the lower margin mark.

Reverse: Mark in the center at the top.
InscriptionsObverse: Inscribed above "NY·CARLSBERG", below figure "LABOREMVS·PRO·PATRIA·", and at lower edge "[symbol] 1871·17·FEBRVAR 1896 [symbol]".

Reverse: Inscribed at proper right "J·C·CHAPLAIN/1895" and at lower edge "1817-1847-1871".
